In this image of longitudinal skeletal muscle the  striations for which this musle is known, and named are clearly evident. - Note also the nucleus which, along with other organelles, is found along the edges of the fibers. Most of the muscle fiber is filled with the contractile myofibrils. - Can you identify the capillary which weaves between the fibers, and the adipose tissue which is part of the connective tissue which surrounds muscle bundles.
