Processes Exhibited by Leukocytes
v  Chemotaxis - the chemical attraction which
stimulates movement of wbc, especially neutrophils
and monocytes, to the site of infection.
v  Amoeboid movement - wbc motility in which
pseudopodia are extended and the rest of the cell
pulled forward in a “crawling” action along and
through the vascular wall.
v  Diapedesis - name for the process in which wbc’s
flatten and move through the vascular wall into the
interstitial tissue.
