Sickle Cells
					A single point mutation in the gene that codes for globin produces hemoglobin with a single amino acid difference on the b chains. This results in aggregation of the HbS hemoglobin causing a loss of plasticity of the cell and the formation of comma shaped cells at low oxygen tension.
